Iran Futsal losses to Morocco in the finals.

The Iranian national futsal team lost the final match of the Intercontinental Cup 2022 against the Moroccan team in extra time.

The final match of the 6 sides’ futsal tournament in Thailand was played on Friday, the match ended 4-3 in favor of Morocco.  Morocco scored two goals in the first half, but Iran tied the game in the second half with goals scored by Saeed Ahmed Abbasi and Hossein Tayyebi. Morocco scored again in the 39th minute but Tayyebi responded by scoring the equalizer in the last seconds. The game ended 3-3 in regulation to send the match into extra time.

The powerful  Moroccans scored the fourth goal in overtime depriving Iran of the championship. The Iranian team won against Finland and Vietnam in the preliminary stage. Shamsaei’s boys defeated the host Thailand in the semi-final by a score of 3-2 to qualify for the final. In the ranking match, Thailand finished third by defeating Finland in penalty kicks. Iran’s national futsal team is preparing to participate in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup, which will be held in Kuwait in October. In this competition, Iran is grouped with Indonesia, Lebanon, and Chinese Taipei.

After returning from Thailand, the national team will resume their camp in Tehran and then leave for Kuwait.

Iran defeats Vietnam in Thailand Futsal Tournament

Iran’s national futsal team continued its winning streak by defeating Vietnam  3-1 in their second match of the 6-a-side Continental tournament in Thailand and qualified for the semi-final stage of this competition.

Alireza Javan (twice) and Mehdi Karimi scored Iran goals.

Vahid Shamsaei is using this competition as a preparatory tournament for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2022 which will be hosted by Kuwait in October.

Iran beats Finland in futsal tournament

Iran National Futsal Team beat Finalnd 2-1 in its first match in Continental Futsal Championship Thailand 2022.

In this match, which started at 14:30 Iran time in Bangkok city, Iran scored the first goal by Salar Aghapour (2), but in the second half, they conceded the equalizer. Later, it was Moslem Olad-e-Ghabad (34) who gave Iran the lead once again to ensure Vahid Shamsaei’s boys leave the firld as winners.

On Tuesday, Iran will play Vietnam in the Hua Mark Indoor Stadium to consolidate the lead in the group of 2 teams.

In the other group, Host Thailand will start the tournament later today against Morocco, while Mozambique is the third team in the group.

The tournament is the ideal preparation for Iran’s Futsal team ahead of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup in Kuwait.

Less than 24 hours from his resignation, Shamsaei returns!

Nothing in Iran’s football seems to work like the rest of the world. Nothing seems to be certain and the fans are becoming used to expecting the unexpected.

In the series of comical acts, Vahid Shamsaei resigned from his post as the head coach of the national futsal team on Tuesday after Mehdi Taj was elected as the new president of the Football Federation. Shamsai openly and honestly announced that his vote in the election was Mirshad Majdi’s rival Mehdi Taj, but he also said that he has no problem with Taj, Nabi, and Ghanbarzadeh and has great respect for them!
His justification for resigning, Shamsaei said: “Because I saw the past events of futsal with my own eyes and I want that honor to be preserved, I am leaving. ” The World leading futsal goalscorer had several disagreements with Taj during his presidency.

After this decision, some board members of FFIRI made some calls to Shamsai and asked him to reconsider his resignation. Among those who called Mehdi Taj, the newly elected president and the reason behind the resignation.

Somehow, Shamsaei withdrew his resignation in less than a day !!

Shamsaei will be on Iran’s bench in the AFC Futsal Cup 2022, which will be hosted by Kuwait in October. He will also travel to Thailand next week with the national team to participate in the country’s preparatory tournament.

Despite being a legendary figure in Iran’s futsal, Shamsaei is also known for his fits of anger, sulky attitude, and bemoaning character. His personality and weakness in dealing with hardship could be the Achilles heel of this coach.

Futsal Team Melli squad named for training camp.

The list of 23 members of the national futsal team for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup was announced today. The 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup will be the 17th edition of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup and will be held in Kuwait between 27 September and 8 October 2022. after a delay of over a year.

Iran is the defending champion which was last won in 2018. Iran is in Group C of the championship along with Lebanon, Indonesia, and Chinese Taipei

The most significant absentee is Hossein Tayebi who is a legionnaire in Spain.

As quoted by the Football Federation website, the preparation camp for the national futsal team for the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup in Kuwait will start on the second day of Shahrivar at the National Football Center.

Heavy fines for withdrawing announced by AFC.

The draw for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2022 hosted by Kuwait in October was held yesterday and the 16 teams in the competition identified their opponents as follows:

Group A Kuwait, Iraq, Thailand, and Oman

Group B Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan

Group C Iran, Lebanon, Chinese Taipei, and Indonesia

Group D Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia,

After the draw, the Asian Football Confederation AFC threatened any team that withdraws from the competition 30 days before the Asian Cup will be fined the amount of 25 thousand dollars and banned from the next edition of the championship. Withdrawal from the Nations Cup less than 30 days before the start of the Games will result in a $ 30,000 to $ 40,000 fine for the teams. But the heaviest fines include teams that withdraw at the start of the competition. The AFC has imposed a $ 75,000 fine in this case, according to the Saudi newspaper Al-Eqtisadiya.

Compensation for financial losses and other disciplinary offenses may also be waiting for the wrong teams.

Iran is the defending champion and favorite to lift the title again.

Futsal : Draw sets stage for Kuwait 2022

Kuala Lumpur: Reigning champions Iran were drawn in Group C of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Kuwait 2022 on Thursday.
The 12-time winners will face Lebanon, Chinese Taipei, and Indonesia in the September 27 to October 8, 2022 Finals, to be hosted by Kuwait for the first time.

AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022 Official Draw Highlights

Kuwait will be making their 12th appearance in the tournament and will aim to impress in front of home support when they face Iraq, 16-time ASEAN champions Thailand and debutants Oman in Group A.
Bahrain will face the Central Asian trio of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan in Group C.
Japan, the only other team to lift the continental trophy, was drawn in Group D with Vietnam, the Korea Republic, and Saudi Arabia for company.

Futsal : Iran 8-1 Kyrgyz Republic

Vahid Shamsaei maintained his perfect record as the head coach of Iran’s futsal team with a resounding win on Tuesday against the host The Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek.
The Kyrgyz Republic stunned the defending champions with Maskat Alimov breaking the deadlock in the 13th minute, but Iran bounced back immediately with Hossein Tayebi and Mortezza Ezzati scoring in the 14th minute.
Alireza Rafiei Pour then put Iran three goals ahead with successive goals in the 30th and 31st minutes, before Mohammadhossein Derakhshani and Hamzeh Kadkhoda etched their names on the scoresheet in the 34th and 36th minutes respectively.
It was all dusted and done when Masoud Abbasi and Masoud Yousef Shavardazi scored in the 37th and 40th minutes respectively to secure an emphatic win.  Futsal Team Melli has already gained qualification after defeating Turkmenistan in the second match of the group following the routing of the Maldives 17-0 in Day 1. Turkmenistan edged The Kyrgyz Republic for the second qualifying spot.
The Finals of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup will be held in Kuwait from 25th September to 20th October with the participation of 16 teams. Iran is the current defending champion

Iran confirms its place in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022™

Bishkek: Defending Champion Iran and Uzbekistan have confirmed their places in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022™ after securing a top-two finish in their respective groups of the Central and South Zone Qualifiers on Monday.
Iran beat Turkmenistan 3-0 to stay top of the leaderboard in Group A with six points. The Kyrgyz Republic, meanwhile, revived its qualification hopes after beating the Maldives.
Uzbekistan were the first team from the region to qualify for the Finals after their 5-1 win over Afghanistan. The White Wolves are assured of a top two finish regardless of the result in the final match on Tuesday. One point is all Tajikistan needs to secure a second-place finish in Group B.

Turkmenistan 0-3 Iran
Turkmenistan were Iran’s toughest challenge yet, but that didn’t stop the defending champions from showing their prowess with Hossein Tayebi breaking the deadlock in the 12th minute before Saeid Ahmadabbasi doubled their advantage moments before the halftime break.
Turkmenistan were still very much in the game as they challenged the champions, but Shiri Bayradurdyyev’s own goal in the 38th minute ended their hopes of a comeback.
Vahid Shamsaei used his second-string players in most of the periods while inducting one or more first-choice players as support.
Iran will take on the Kyrgyz Republic on Tuesday, while Turkmenistan faces a must-win match against the Maldives.

Iran Futsal thrashes Maldives 17-0

Iran’s national futsal team defeated the Maldives 17 – 0  in their first match of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup qualifiers.

This was the first official match for the new coach Vahid Shamsaei the holder of the record goals scored at the international level.

Iran got their title defence off to a fantastic start, beating Maldives 17-0 with eight different players finding the back of the net.

Salar Aghapour opened the scoring in the fifth minute and got his second in the 15th minute. Hamzeh Kadkhoda also scored twice – in the 34th and 35th minutes – while Masound Yousef Shavardazi got his brace with back-to-back efforts in the 37th minute.

Mohammadhossein Derakhshani, Mahdi Karimi and Alireza Rafiei Poir also got into the goalscoring action with a goal each in the sixth, 20th and 38th minutes respectively.

Hossein Tayebi secured a hat-trick with goals in the 11th, 25th and 26th minutes, but the most valuable player was surely Saeid Ahmadabbasi with five goals to his name – two in the 20th minute, his hat-trick in the 23rd minute, before adding two more in the 33rd minute.

Iran will look to continue their fine form against Turkmenistan on Monday, while Maldives will have to bounce back against Kyrgyz Republic.
