In preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, Carlos Queiroz called on the domestic Persian Gulf League Team Melli players to set up a training camp in neighbouring Armenia.

The squad , minus the legionnaires players, will spend 9 days in the Armenian National football team Training Camp in Yerevan before flying back to Tehran. It is expected that all the players will be available to Queiroz 3 days before the match against Uzbekistan in Tashkent on October 6th. The squad then continue training for the the encounter against South Korea in Azadi on 11th October.

The two matches in October will not seal the fate of qualification however they are crucial in shaping the group as Uzbekistan is comfortably sitting at top with full points, while Iran and South Korea are behind the leaders with 4 points.
