ALEXIS SANCHEZ’S talent was ‘not enough’ to save Chile in their friendly defeat to Iran last night, according to the country’s media.
The Arsenal ace came on at half-time in the 2-0 loss to Carlos Queiroz’s side, but the £35m man was unable to inspire his side to victory.

La Tercera’s verdict on Alexis SanchezGiving their verdict on Chile’s players, newspaper La Tercera wrote about the former Barcelona star: “His talent was not enough, because he had no space against an opponent that was closed to the fullest.”
While Sanchez was spared a dressing down, QPR duo Maurico Isla and Eduardo Vargas were not so fortunate.
On striker Vargas, the newspaper wrote: “QPR striker moved a lot, but accomplished little. Still in debt.”
Former West Brom, Brighton and Nottingham Forest defender Gonzalo Jara also got stick after his below-par display, with the verdict: “Sometimes misplaced (as in the second goal), he ended with zero balance.”
