Iran to receive US$10 millions from FIFA.

Iran will receive US$10 millions from FIFA, according to Kaffasian , the president of the Iranian football federation..

Ali Kaffashain said he is hopeful that his federation will recover some of the money being held up in international banks as the result of the sanctions. Speaking to the press about various issues, Kaffashian also confirmed that the President of FIFA , Sepp Baltter , who will be arriving in Tehran next Wednesday for an official visit , will have an audience with President Hassan Rouhani , the President of Islamic Republic of Iran and Ali Larijani , the Speaker of the parliament as part of  visit’s program.

On the financial issues, Kaffashian was also hopeful that lifting or easing of some of the sanctions , will allow Iran to receive the allocated 10 million dollars as the reward for qualifying to the FIFA World Cup 2014. Iran also needs to pay 1 million dollar to FIFA for various fees.

Kaffashian , dismissed any chance of playing Spain before the World Cup “If we have acted  earlier , this could have been possible, but the Spanish football agenda is full , and I very much doubt if they have a vacant slot for a friendly against us.” Kaffashian also dismissed the idea of negotiation with Miguel Ángel “Míchel” Salgado about arranging a friendly with Spain. The Ex Real Madrid player will be attending a sport medicine conference in Tehran next week. “If we have to negotiate for a friendly match , we will do it directly with the people concerned , in this case , the Spanish football federation. It is not prudent to open negotiations with Salgado. He is here in Tehran for a function which has nothing to do with arranging football friendlies.”Kaffashian added.

“As for the friendly against USA and the 4 side tournament that is scheduled to be held on May next year , Queiroz has provincially agreed on those dates, however , he preferred that we do not announce it officially until the draw is held for the World Cup on the 6th December. “Kaffashian said in response to the friendly matches that FFIRI has arranged. “We are looking for strong teams to face in friendly games. Queiroz does not care much about the names, as long as they are strong opponents” . Kaffashian then concluded his statement with the customary hope “We hope to arrange 3 strong friendlies before the World Cup”

Kaffashian admitted that main Queiroz proposals about the conduct of the league was not entertained by the league commission and the negotiations are resumed to find a common ground between the League and Team Melli programs looking at solutions that are satisfactory to both sides.
