According to a report from The Scottish Sun, Rangers are interested in potentially making a move to sign Iran star Milad Mohammadi this summer as Steven Gerrard looks to take his number of signings into double figures.

The Gers have managed to strengthen all over the pitch during this window, with Lassana Coulibaly and Umar Sadiq becoming the Scottish Premiershipside’s latest acquisitions, with both men arriving on loan for the coming campaign.

And it appears that signing number 10 may be in Gerrard’s sights. The Scottish Sun reports that the Gers are weighing up a pursuit of Mohammadi, who was part of the Iran side that featured at the World Cup in Russia. The 24-year-old is undoubtedly most famous for his attempted throw-in the group clash with Spain that involved a forward flip, but did not actually lead to the ball leaving the full-back’s hands.

The Scottish Sun adds that he is expected to cost at least £2 million and a work permit is unlikely to be an issue if Rangers do decide to make a move and get close to finalising a deal at some stage.

Interestingly, Mohammadi is predominantly a left-back who can also play on the right-hand side of the defence or slightly further forward as a left winger.
