Hossein Kalani scored an early goal for Iran and the only goal of the half which was mainly controlled by the host nation. However, Iran could not increase the margin with several chances to score going amiss.
In the second half , Fariborz Esmaili who was substituted in for Ali Jabari, played a vital role in the second goal. The right winger cleverly placed himself in the path the corner played by Akbar Eftekhari. He outjumped both his marker and the Burmese keeper both of whom could only see the ball going right into the net for Eftikhari to score Iran second goal directly from the corner kick.
Ten minutes later, Fariborz Aziz smartly provided a great "goal assist" to Homayoun Behzadi to score a goal against a hardworking Burma team for the third time. The same Burma that defeated Israel a few days ago and was determined to win the Asian Nations Cup title of the first time two years after winning the gold medal of the Asian Games. |
