Team Melli player Saman Ghoddos joined French football team Amiens from the Swedish side Ostersunds FK.

The 24-year-old player has joined the French side Amiens in a five-year contract.

Amiens President Bernard Joannin has confirmed the transfer, L’Equipe reported.

Amiens paid €4 million to sign Ghoddos.

Ghoddos is the first Iranian professional player to play in France Ligue 1. He played in all the three matches in FIFA World Cup 2018, however as a substitute.

Despite a brilliant run in the Europa league with his club including the dead at of mighty Arsenal in Emirates, which attracted the attention of major European clubs,  no serious offers were received for his services and instead Ghoddos elected the lowely French club.

Amiens has lost both of its matches this season and is in the bottom of the table with no points.
