Iran U-16 Qualifies for AFC U-16 Championship Malaysia 2018 in grand style.

Karaj: Afghanistan finished their AFC U-16 Championship Malaysia 2018 Qualifiers campaign with a third win – beating Lebanon 4-1 – while Islamic Republic of Iran remained perfect after beating Kyrgyz Republic 4-0 on Sunday.

After losing out to Iran on Matchday Four, Afghanistan lost out on the top spot.

Going into the match against Lebanon, Afghanistan aimed to finish among the tournament’s five best second-placed teams, but failed to find ample opportunities in the first half.

A minute after the break, Samir Samandari opened the scoring for Afghanistan, before Ahmad Shabir Rashidi doubled their advantage six minutes later.

Lebanon managed to pull one back when they were awarded a penalty, which Wassim Ayach converted in the 68th minute.

Saad Eddine Bahlawan’s side’s hopes of making a comeback were shattered when Ahmad earned his second in the 82nd minute to return the two-goal lead to Afghanistan.

Mohammad Noman Walizada ended the match with a goal of his own three minutes before time to hand Sayed Hadi Kazemi’s side three valuable points.

Iran will face Kyrgyz Republic later on Sunday.

Having booked their spot in the Final stage next year, Iran made it four consecutive wins in Group C.

Amir Jafari scored his first goal of the night 16 minutes into the match, before Shervin Rezaei added a second for Iran 10 minutes later.

Kyrgyz Republic showed tremendous ability to go up against one of the best teams in the Continent, and defended till the break.

Abbas Chamanian’s side tried hard to break the Kyrgyz defence, and finally succeeded in the 72nd minute with captain Alireza Bavieh finding the back of the net.

Amir Jafari scored his second shortly after to end Iran’s campaign on a high note.
