First win for Omid in the Asian Games

Omid Team managed its first win in the Asian Games 2022 after a disappointing goalless draw with Saudi Arabia in the first match. In Thursday’s match, the U23 team comprehensively beat Vietnam 4-0 to regain the top spot in the Group consisting of Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Iran.

Goals my Arsalan Motahri (5), Saman Touranian (47′)’, Mehdi Mamizadeh (53′), and Aria Barzegar (90+2′) sealed the win and a top-of-the-table spot for the U23 team. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia defeated Mongolia earlier in the day 3-0 to be level on points with Iran but placed second with Omofd having a better goal difference.
