PRAHA/EDEN – Slavia won the last friendly game against the national team of Iran 1-0 thanks to the goal scored by Jaroslav Cerny shortly before the halftime whistle.

Iran showed fast passing football in Prague, but the red-white defence withheld the pressure with Martin Vaniak saving the shot of Razeia.

Gebre Selassie´s header from the 28th minute did not end in the net, while Jaroslav Cerny scored the winner on 43rd minute after his shot was rebounded back to him.

The second half saw many substitutions and less chances, Rezaei could have equalised but missed face-to-face to Slavia keeper.

As Ali Daei said Iran showed a very good performance in Prague, we had problems with fast counterattacks and passes behind our defence line. On the other hand we found windows in the defence of Iran, the winning goal was the case. It was a good match,“ Slavia coach Karel Jarolim said after the game.
