The player is born in Sweden from an Iranian father and a Filipino Mother. He is currently playing for Ängelholms FF in Superettan as a center midfielder. His brother Amin plays for Omid's previous club Malmö FF in Allsvenskan.
The Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz has surprised everyone by including him in the squad to play against Uzbekistan in the 4th round of the Asian Zone World Cup qualifiers against Uzbekistan in June 2012.
