A goalkeeper who has represented Iran in every age group team.
Haghighi made his debut for Persepolis at the age of 18, on 17 October 2006 playing against Saipa where Haghighi saved a penalty against the legendary Ali Daei. Haghighi was on the junior team of Persepolis since 2005.
Season 2008/09 was Haghighi's oppertunity to shine for his club after finding himslef as the no 1 keeper due to injuries of the main goalkeepers Misagh Memarzadeh and Mehdi Vaezi. He became the first choice keeper.
In the 2010/11 season he captained Persepolis for the first time in the 2–1 victory against Saipa. He is the youngest captain of Persepolis's history.
In December 2011, Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan sent a transfer request to Persepolis. He officially left Persepolis on 9 January 2012. On 14 January 2012 Haghighi signed a 4-year deal with Rubin Kazan for an undisclosed fee.[4] In signing for Rubin, Haghighi became the first Iranian to ever play in the Russian Premier League and the second Iranian goalkeeper to play professionally in Europe after Nima Nakisa.
