Hus first honor came in the International Youth Friendly tournament held a year before in which he scored in the final against the Soviet Union which won Iran the trophy.

Heshmat Mohajerani was quite impressed with this young scorer and despite a plethora of strikers in the senior Team , he insisted in selecting him as part of the team preparing for the World Cup.

Fariba moment of magic came in Kuwait in the last match of Worlc Cup qualifier against Kuwait , where Mohajerani selected a below strength and a young team to face their nemesis who were looking for revenge.
