Born in Tehran near Namjoo street. He spent 8 years in Germany where he played football for several clubs. Adelkhani was a left-footer with amazing dribbling abilities. His style of play was a mixture of individual skills and a disciplined European system of football.
Adelkhani was a product of “ Taj Club” youth system and at 15 he was ushered to “Deihiem” which as at the time , Taj affiliate club or B Team. Under Mohammad Bayati , the young Adelkhani exceled and became the league’s top scorer with 12 goals in Tehran. A year later , he was selected for Tehran Selection Team , and traveled to the Soviet Union for a series of matches. On his return fro USSR , he joined “Taj” (Current Esteghlal Club) and traveled with his teammates to play a friendly match in Turkey. Soon after his return from Turkey, he headed to West Germany where he spent and 8 years in football.
in Germany , he team played in Oberhausen and Wuppertal . While Adelkhani was in Oberhausen , he scored three goals against Bayer Leverkusen in the final game of the second division to clinch promotion to the Bundesliga for his club. Other German team that Adelkhani played for Bayern were: Munich II, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, Wuppertaler SV, SG Wattenscheid 09 and VfL Klafeld-Geisweid.
After his return from abroad , Adelkhani re-joined “Taj” . He was the member of the Championship that Taj has won in the 2nd Takht Jamshid League. After having differences with “Taj” Management , he joined Shahbaz club ( old Shahin) which just won promotion from the second division , along with several Taj players like Hejazi . Mazloomi , Abdollahei and others.
He was quite popular as a smart left footed winger , with excellent dribbling ability that entrained the fans. He will be always remembered for his goal in Aryamehr Stadium in Asian Games final against Israel.
