Team Melli played for the first time against Senegal. The African team is the the 100th nation of Team Melli.
In the aftermath of the bitter defeat against Saudi Arabia a few days back , only the faithful braved the circumstances and the heartache by coming to Azadi .
Team Melli , resting a few starters such as Aghili , Nekounam and Mahdavikia , scored the first goal from a header by Madanchi , with the ball trickling to the far side of the Senegalses goalkeeper on the 28th minute of the first half.
Team Melli made three changes in the second half , but it was Senegal that scored the equalizer with the fine header by Patrice Cisse on 57 minute.
The match saw Ruetmoeller acting as the interim coach , while the only absentee from the coaching staff was the sacked Ali Daei. |
