Asian Games 1998 Bangkok

The Asian Games 1998 football competition was held in Bangkok from November 30 to December 19, 1998.

This edition of the football competition had a record number of entries , which meant arranging the competition in several stages. The Preliminaries, Group stages, quarter final , semi final and the final matches.

23 countries participated in the football competition.

Team Melli competed in this edition with the skeleton of the team that played in the FIFA World Cup 1998 France with addition of some new players. Team Melli won the goal medal defeating Kuwait in the final match.
