Brief.

Parvin, a  lanky and a short player is considered one of the legends of Iranian Football. His rise to stardom started just at the time when Iran began to dominate the Asian football scene. He had a remarkable debut on the eve of a pleasant September day against Pakistan in the RCD cup. This on and off tournament was played between Iran, Turkey and Pakistan. Parvin scored on his debut and he impressed many people with his skills and runs. Iran eventually won the game by 7 clear goals.

Parvin went to win many honors with the national team including the Asian Cup (Twice), Asian Games Winners medal in Tehran , participation in the Olympic games and the World Cup.

On the 13th of June 1976 and in front of 112,000 Iranian spectators at Aryameher Stadium, Parvin scored the winner against Kuwait in the final game of the Asian Nations Championship. The goal from a free kick , was the last championship winner for Iran for many years to come.

Parvin was still playing competitive football at the age of 40. He began a successful career in coaching after his retirement as a player and managed the Iranian National Football team for many years. During his coaching and management of the team, he achieved success by winning the Gold Medal of the Asian Games in Beijing in 1990. This was the first major achievement of Iran after the revolution and this success fuelled a huge expectation from the crowds and official to repeat the success of Iran's golden era of  the Seventies.

Parvin next major assignment was to take Iran to the World cup once again. He started the campaign for USA 94 with ease by reaching the final qualifying rounds after easy wins against Oman, Taiwan and Syria. However, the next round of competition was anything but smooth for Parvin and his players. 3 defeats by South Korea, Iraq and Saudi Arabia  and couple of wins against North Korea and Japan, as just not good enough for Iran. Parvin's failure to reach the World Cup Finals and the lackluster performance of the team in Doha brought the wrath of the officials of the Iranian Football Federation. He was banned from all football activities for life. This was an extreme act of frustration by the IFF which would be overturned in a few years.

Parvin is back coaching now as he is  the coach of the most popular team in  Iran, Perspolis (Piruzi).
