Ali Samereh a player from
Shiraz whose goals and performance in the league convinced Esteghlal
Tehran management to recruit him for the club. Samereh obliged by
scoring for the club at will on all levels.
He was called for national team
duty and made several appearances, however he could not repeat his goal
scoring feat at the national level.
With Samereh continued his
first-rate performance with his club and was instrumental in the
glory of Esteghlal Tehran, the club soon took the opportunity and sent
him on loan to Perugia, a Serie 'A' Italian club.
Samereh's fortunes with Perugia
was not very successful. He made only a handful of appearances with the
club, soon to return back to Tehran.
After a period away from
football due to injury, Samereh soon bounced back and continued his
scoring for Esteghlal in 2003/04 season and once again was recalled to
the National team..
