Rahman Rezaei: A steady defender from Esfahan who managed to attract the
attention of Italian Club, Perugia after a short scouting session by the
club officials.
His solid performance in the Calccio made him quite a popular player
amongst the fans. He is also a good header of the ball and frequently
joins the offense line during corner kicks and managed to score 5 goals for
his club.
Rezaei joined Messina and soon became a regular
starter for the club. A good start to the season was not sustained and
eventually Messina was relegated to Serie "B"
He was among the key players for Iran in FIFA
World Cup 2006, but he did not perform as well as everyone had hoped. He
received some criticism following a couple mistakes which led to goals
being scored against the team
He was transferred to Livorno in the
beginning of Italian Seri 'A' season 2006/07
