
Gholam Reza Enayati
The top scorer of the first Iran Professional League season 2001-2002.
Plays for the provincial team of Abo Moslem Khorasan. He goal scoring
record and his powerful physique was deemed good enough to be selected
for the National Team. Enayati made his debut for Iran against Palestine
in the 2nd West Asian Games held in Kuwait in April 2002. He capped his
debut with a goal that saved Iran from an embarrassing loss to the
minnows.
In the last game of the regular league in May 2002, Enayati managed to
score 7 goals against Esteghlal Rasht to ensure that he wins the top
scorer title in the inaugural season of IPL.
Handful of appearances so far and faces a stiff competition for the
starting role in Team Melli. Enayati was again the league's top scorer
with 20 goals in 2004-05 season.
Enayati concluded the current season ( 2005/06) by winning the Golden
Boot award for the third time running and broke the record for most
goals scored in the league. He also won the championship with his club
Esteghlal Tehran.
