Iraq requests a Friendly International match in Tehran

The Iraqi football federation has officially announced that it has written to its Iranian counterpart requesting a friendly international match in Tehran  to face Team Melli on March 17th.

In a press conference , Kamil Al Sagheer , a member of the Iraqi FA , confirmed the request by his federation but added that the Iranians have not come back yet or showed any interest !

Iraqi team, which has very little chance of qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2018,  is preparing for its next match against Australia in the return rounds of the Qualifiers. Team Melli is heading the other group in the Asian Zone qualifiers but has failed to announce any friendly matches so far before the crucial match away to Qatar.
